The Vocal, and Impressive Osprey

Ospreys are a familiar sight across Brevard County’s lagoons and waterways. Often called the fish hawk, this raptor hovers before diving feet-first to catch mullet and other fish. They build large stick nests on channel markers, pilings, and platforms, and their whistling calls are a signature sound of the Space Coast shoreline.
