Florida Manatees

The Florida manatee is a gentle, slow-moving marine mammal commonly seen in Brevard County’s Banana and Indian River Lagoons. These warm, shallow waters and seagrass beds provide feeding and winter refuge. Manatees often surface quietly near boats and docks, reminding visitors to idle slowly, respect zones, and protect this threatened species.
